In İngiliz şiir studies, poems written in English, poets, poetic forms, movements and periods are analyzed from perspectives such as language and style, content and theme, figures of speech, and mutual influences; at times in the light of literary theory, at times comparatively, and at times with the aim of exploring their own depths.

In this field, the earliest examples of the novel as a genre are addressed; the works of novelists regarded as representatives of various movements observed from the beginning of the 18th century to the present are examined with consideration of plot, characters, and themes.

In this field, primary emphasis is placed on the fundamental principles of translation; through the translation of written texts with the aid of dictionaries, as well as oral texts without the use of dictionaries, students are enabled to use both languages accurately and to prepare for the profession of translation, one of the indispensable professions of the contemporary world.

In this field, courses are offered and studies are conducted on topics such as contemporary society, gender, social classes, family structure, traditions and customs, ethnic groups, urban and rural cultures, music that is listened to, films that are watched, and related subjects, within the context of the relationship between culture and literature. In courses presented through the use of audio-visual materials, students’ knowledge of these subjects is enhanced, and they are encouraged to relate what they learn to their own cultures, thereby supporting their development as individuals better adapted to a globalizing world.
