About Changes In The Library Management System

Dear TOBB ETÜ Family,

The library management system is to undergo a revision, with the installation procedures to commence in the morning of 30 December, 2016. In this context, the system operating at the address milas.etu.edu.tr will be closed, and for a short period book loan extension and reservation requests will be submitted to the library via e-mail . Library catalog queries can be run by selecting our university in the detailed search option on Mass Catalog of Turkey TO-KAT (http://arastirma.gov.tr) system.

From 5th of January on, the catalog query and interactive processes will be, hopefully, available on the new system running at the address http://koha.etu.edu.tr . Given the fact that in the time frame 30 December, 2016 – 5 January, 2017, any procedures will have to be ran manually, it would be wiser to have performed procedures such as borrowing, delay, lost book etc. charge payments, and borrowing extensions in advance, by Thursday, 29th of December, at latest.

Koha library management system has a Course Reserve module as well. The Textbook Reporting Form for use by our academic staff is attached to this message. The use of the module will be implemented in line with the response received.

The infrastructure for the academic archives (earsiv.etu.edu.tr) is also set to be changed, and from now on DSpace developed by MIT and used extensively all around the globe will be used. Work on the contents is in progress. The software enables use for multiple purposes on the basis of its access settings capabilities. This will allow us to create e-reserves with limited access, or to offer open course materials. The academic staff who are interested in these capabilities can contact the library.
