TOBB ETU Department of Economics 2024-25 Academic Year Student-Faculty Meeting

We, as the TOBB ETÜ Economics Department, made a strong start to the 2024-25 Academic Year with our Student-Faculty Orientation and Information Meeting. The program began with an opening speech by our Department Chair, Prof. A. Talha Yalta, followed by Assoc. Prof. Belgi Turan introducing the faculty members. Afterward, Prof. Serdar Sayan, the Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences, gave an inspiring talk titled “Wind, Sails, and Economists,” explaining what it means to be an economist. Ümit Fatih Oymak, one of our senior undergraduate students, shared his experiences of being a student in the Economics Department at TOBB ETÜ. Throughout the event, important topics such as academic advising, course registration, Erasmus, and double major programs, which are of interest to our new students, were also discussed. Our students had the opportunity to meet and chat with each other and with our academic staff as well.
