Here, industrial relations are concerned with individual relations, but rather with collective relations of parties. A collective level relationship requires the organization of the parties. This will reveal institutional relations. Industrial relations are more concerned with institutionalized relations. This requires the parties, workers and employers to have an institution (union). The narrow meaning of industrial relations is known as “Industrial relations examines the relations between industrial workers and their employers in modern societies”.
