The Publication of the ‘Oluş’ Journal Prepared Through Cooperation of the Turkish Language and Literature Department and the Language and Culture Society

The cocktail event to promote the ‘Oluş’ journal the Language and Culture Society of our university began to publish, took place on Thursday, 19th of January, at the foyer of the school.

The event attended by Prof. Adem Şahin, the President of the University, and Prof. Yusuf Sarınay, the  Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, as well as faculty members from a number of departments began with a conversation between the President, the Dean, and the faculty members of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, about the journal. The conversation was followed by an address by Betük Kurtvuran, a Turkish Language and Literature student who serves as the President of the Language and Culture Society, and the Chief Editor of the Oluş Journal. Having shared the details about the process of publishing the journal, Betül Kurtvuran ended her words with a remark of gratitude for anyone involved in the publication of the ‘Oluş’ journal.

The cocktail event continued with a speech by the President, Prof. Adem Şahin. The President began his speech by saying “Our friends produced an elegant work with the colors of TOBB ETÜ. I would like to begin my words by thanking the Society President and our colleagues of us who worked for this endeavor and who are named on the copyright page.” Then he stated the University Management’s willingness to provide any kind of support needed for the continuity of the journal: “I hope that this publication (Oluş) grows into a major brand, as well as a platform exhibiting the contributions of our colleagues from any field, employing an interdisciplinary approach at TOBB ETÜ.” The President ended his words by promising not to spare any support to ensure high-quality sustainability of Oluş Journal.

Thereafter, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Yusuf Sarınay took the mike and began with thanking everyone involved in the publication of the journal. Noting that he took a pre-print copy from Assist. Prof. Necmettin Turinay, the Editorial Consultant, and read it right away, Prof. Yusuf Sarınay also promised to do anything the University Administration is capable of, in terms of ensuring the continuity of the journal.

The event ended with a mass photo shoot.

We also wish every success in the publication life, to the ‘Oluş’ journal, which was born with the slogan “One by One and Altogether”.
