Mr. Hashim Thaçi – President of Republic of Kosovo- was directed with the Honorary Doctorate by TOBB ETÜ

The ceremony was held on Thursday, December 29 at 14:30 at the TOBB Twin Towers. 

CV of HE President Hashim THAÇI:

• Mr. Hashim THAÇI was born on April 24, 1968 in Buroje, Kosovo.·        
• He graduated from the Department of History at the University of Pristina.·        
• He chaired the Kosovo delegation at the international conference held in Rambouillet (France) on 6-22 November 1999.
• He served as the Prime Minister of the Provisional Government of Kosovo, which was established after the war, between 1999-2000.
• He served until 2001, when he was a member of the Interim Administration Council of the United Nations Mission to Kosovo (UNMIK).
• In 2000, he was elected first President of the Democratic Party of Kosovo. He continued this duty until 26 February 2016.
• He took part in the Kosovo delegation during talks on the status of Kosovo, led by UN Special Representative Martti Ahtisaari.
• He worked as the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister between 2014-2015.
• On February 17, 2008, the Kosovo Assembly declared Kosovo's independence.
• He chaired the Kosovo delegation during the political dialogue between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia on April 19, 2013, which resulted in the Normalization of Relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
• On April 7, 2016, he officially became President of Kosovo.
• He speaks English and German.
• He is married and has a son.
