Academic Year 2016 - 2017 Sees the Beginning of 30% English Language Instruction at the Department of History

Since, currently, a great deal of the studies conducted in the field of history are published in English; knowledge of English, which was once optional, has become an necessity for historians. Therefore, aiming at educating competent academicians, who are capable of following the studies conducted and published in abroad, contributing to the same and publish the scientific studies conducted in Turkey to the rest of the world, our department will be providing English language instruction by 30% in the academic year 2016-2017. In addition to the education provided in the preparatory year, 30% of the courses in the undergraduate program will be lectured in English, which will provide our students with a good command of this language as an academic medium, and will, thus, be able to easily attend graduate and postgraduate programs both in abroad and at such universities in Turkey, the instruction medium of which is English.
The courses that will be lectured in English include American History, History of the Middle East, Contemporary World, History of Turkish Modernization, Ottoman Socio-Economic History History of Colonialism, Mediterranean History, Balkan History.
