TOBB ETÜ Students to Develop Projects for Vodafone Smart Village
7 YEAR(S) AGOA protocol to develop cooperation for education and research was signed between our University and TABİT Agricultural Information and Communication Technologies, and HAVELSAN A.Ş.
In the academic year 2016-2017, Industrial Design, Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering students will come together and develop technology-assisted personal farming tools as TOBB ETÜ graduation projects.
TABİT and HAVELSAN A.Ş., leading firms of the sector which aims to facilitate farmers’ access to quality information through effective use of technology, and thus increase the quality of life in rural environments, will provide our students with technical mentoring for graduation projects. The cooperation entailing active involvement of TABİT and HAVELSAN with interdisciplinary graduation projects will –we believe– provide a major element of added value for the university, our students, and the industry.
The technical know-how Havelsan commands, and the technical and agricultural insights TABİT had accumulated through time, will thus be brought together and transposed into production processes. The project to serve as the first example of an interdisciplinary work will have the students work in cooperation with TABİT and HAVELSAN, and successfully complete a prototype with all functions intact by the end of the semester.
The products of the project, in turn, are intended to be tested and implemented at Vodafone Smart Village developed through the partnership of TABİT and VODAFONE.
The opportunity to use Vodafone Smart Village to implement the products to be developed through interdisciplinary graduation projects, will contribute to translating knowledge to new enterprises, taking it from a merely theoretical existence to an applied world.
We would like to thank TABİT, Vodafone Smart Village, and HAVELSAN for their contributions in the project, within the framework of the “Interdisciplinary Graduation Project”, with a view to reinforcing cooperation between the university and the Industry, and to pass on the practicable results to the industry.
